Homologation of Première and Terminale

The application for homologation of Première and Terminale classes has been officially approved by the Ministry of National Education! This significant advancement now completes all classes from Petite Section to Terminale.

Since the first homologation in 1997, homologation for 6th grade was achieved in 2011, followed by 5th, 4th, and 3rd grades in 2019. Second grade was homologated in 2023, and Première and Terminale classes in 2024. This series of homologations is the culmination of collective effort over many years involving numerous staff members, various management directions and committees, with constant support from the Embassy, Consulate General, and AEFE. Warm thanks to all who contributed to this ultimate homologation.

This achievement also recognizes the educational excellence promoted by LFIK, with teams dedicated daily to delivering pedagogical standards expected for terminal cycle homologation.

Starting September 1st, LFIK will be a fully homologated school from kindergarten to baccalauréat.

Homologation is official recognition by the ministry responsible for national education of quality education, compliant with French educational system principles, programs, and pedagogical organization. It ensures students and their families a quality education in French and French programs, enabling study continuation in France and abroad, issuance of French diplomas equivalent to schooling in France, and promotes mobility within French education networks abroad and within France. French families may also benefit from income-based scholarships for their children’s schooling.

Homologation also permits application to become an examination center for the Diplôme National du Brevet (DNB) and baccalauréat exams.
